Our clinical experience is an asset to the legal process in any case that involves a medical record. By letting us analyze and organize the medical side of the case, the attorney can focus on the legal aspect. Working together as a team, both areas of expertise are put to use to create the strongest case.
As nurses we have spent our careers searching through medical records to find information about our patients. We are knowledgeable in standards of care and policies and procedures. We can review medical records and assess for any breaches in duty or deviation in the standards of care. Our professional case analysis is the most time and cost effective way for an attorney to decide if a case is worth taking.
We take the complete file of medical records for a case and break it down into a concise chronology, focusing on the details relevant to the claim. Medical terminology is defined, and graphics simplify the complex information involved. The fact summary report summarizes the chronology, and lists out claims drawing connections from claim to diagnoses. We also assist with recommendations on further discovery, and topics that could be used in deposition and trial.
We have access to a wide network of LNC's that specialize in providing expert witness testimony.
A registered nurse can attend your clients IME/DME. As a LNC we help ensure that confidentiality surrounding the case is kept private and the exam is solely focused on the clients injuries. Having a nurse present eases the clients fears and anxieties and also supports the legal process while the attorney is not in attendance.
